Dear Parents, Guardians, and Visitors:
Welcome to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School!
Our school certainly is a special place to be. We have academic rigor, strong Catholic values, and Mercedarian spirituality. Our faculty remains committed to preparing our students to be successful problem solvers in order to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.
We support a student-centered learning environment with technology integration that enables and encourages every student to think critically and communicate skillfully. And at the foundation, we encourage our students to grow in their faith. I believe this has an enormous positive impact on everyone – especially our students.
I taught second-grade and middle school science at Our Lady of Mount Carmel for 7 years before being named as Principal. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio; teaching certification from Baldwin-Wallace University, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Notre Dame College. My true passion is educating children, and I enjoy serving as the instructional leader at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School.
I believe that my background as a teacher enables me to understand and meet the needs of both teachers and parents but ultimately allows me to serve the students and children of our community. Doing what is best for the children of our school is what guides and directs my decisions. My office door is open for discussions and collaboration that are in the best interest of your child.
I am proud to serve as the Principal at OLMC, and I look forward to meeting you and sharing all that OLMC has to offer.
Blessings,
Shelly Schenek
